Advanced Professional Dog Grooming –
Our Professional 4 Week Intensive course, is for those wishing to start up their own business, equipping them with the knowledge and hands on experience of how to run a Grooming business. This course includes ACMGRM201 and ACMGRM403 units that are Nationally Recognised and part of the Certificate III in Animal Care Services (Pet Grooming).
ACMGRM201 and ACMGRM403 have an online component through Heiniger Academy which can be completed on campus or at home. The online component is self paced and students will have 6 months from the date of enrolment to complete the theory side. Students will also be assigned a Heiniger Academy Student Liaison to assist them with the theory side.
This can be completed without having to undertake the online component.
Extensive hands-on coat types and breed styling. Advanced scissor skills. including booking systems and internet. Staff interaction, Salon Management and scheduling. 1-2 Students max for this course.
Includes: Teddy Face, basic Asian Fusion, broad knowledge of breed coat types and expectations. You will groom and prepare at least 40 Dogs, With your Trainer one-on-one.
Also included Uniform and Heiniger accreditation. This is the best and most comprehensive course to start a business.

When a deposit for course has been paid and the course position confirmed, should you wish to cancel, a credit on the deposit will be provided for 12 months.
The USI scheme has been developed to assist all students attending Nationally Recognised Training to have the ability to access their training achievements in one location. This will save you from having to carry a portfolio of certificates around with you in the future. Since 1 January 2016 any Qualifications or Units of Competency you achieve will be available when you login. You will be able to access transcripts and provide them to prospective employers or to training organisations to recognise the achievements you hold.
If you are enrolling in or completing a course that is Nationally Recognised you must provide the Training Organisation your USI number to receive a certificate.
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a reference number made up of 10 digits which could be numbers and letters that give you access to your own training records. You will have one USI number for your lifetime. You can create and manage your USI details at www.usi.gov.au
Part 5 of the Student Identifiers Act 2014 states that Registered Training Organisations must not issue certificates if a USI number is not provided by the student.
A USI is effectively a reference number allocated to each student. When students attend training they will need to provide it to their Training Organisation which will allow for their records to be updated in one location. This will also assist Training Organisations in checking pre-requisites as well as completing Credit Transfers and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Currently, it is not mandatory to hold formal qualifications as a groomer. However, obtaining a certificate qualification gives you a competitive edge. A certificate from Heiniger Academy demonstrates your commitment to professionalism and is backed by an industry-leading company in a highly competitive and in-demand market.

Yes you do. This course is divided into theory and practical components. The practical component includes 100% hands-on training and multiple question and answer components onlibe with Heiniger, where you’ll apply your knowledge and skills by grooming a variety of dog breeds.
At this time there is no government funding for this course, however, we do have funding options available or if you are a student your parents or guardian may opt to pay this for you. We do have payment plans available.

My small dog was initially a reactive nipper, but they treated him wonderfully and now is fine for his grooms! They had a trainee and offered to groom my Labrador for a reduced rate, he now looks so fluffy!
Work well with older dogs too. Before our golden retriever passed we had him groomed and they accommodated for his bad hips. He was much more comfortable with his groomed coat during his final year.

My best friend, Ivy, recently had a wonderful pampering experience at W.A. Dog Grooming & Clipping Academy. Despite being a vocal and anxious 13-year-old Siberian Husky, she surprisingly allowed them to clip her overgrown toes! The staff were so gentle and caring with my little old girl, and when she left, she smelled absolutely delightful. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone with a Husky like mine. They truly understand how to handle our furry friends with love and compassion.

Have been going here for years and both the previous owners and the new owners have always taken care of my Pug Bruno. They are able to brush out his second coat so he sheds less and they are able to do his nails. They have a harness that helps keep him comfortable when they are doing his nails, pug people will understand! Always a 5 star service and would recommend to anyone with a pug or anyone who loves their dog!
